hushed bell tones
whispering softly
on gentle breeze
a wind chime day
sunlight glowing
on still wet grass
diamonds dancing
as blades sway
chorus of voices
birds joyfully sing
celebrating change
welcome back, Spring
I made a pledge to myself to write a poem a day for the entire year. Now to follow through. I preface this with a reminder; most of the poems written for this year long project will be done so spontaneously and therefore will not be edited. Bear with me on this. The project goal is to get them written over getting them perfect. Several times there will simply be the poem with no title. When that happens suggestions for a title will be welcomed in the comments.

the One Hundred Thirteenth, Apr. 22, 2011
relax and enjoy
let the mind rest
savor the quiet
feel the peace
no need to rush
take your time
today can be slow
its OK to breathe
let the mind rest
savor the quiet
feel the peace
no need to rush
take your time
today can be slow
its OK to breathe

does repetition lessen value
can redundancy reduce worth
does it just become routine
and lose all personal meaning?
will saying "I'm sorry" every day
make the words seem less true
or cause you to doubt them
and think me to be insincere?
could "I love you" a million times
make the other heart grow colder
filling with disbelief and doubt
until the warmth fades into chill?
there is a great power in words
that never fades with wear
but the power can easily be stolen
when used without the heart
say the words you feel inside you
mean them every time you speak
and their power will not weaken
remaining as true as your heart
can redundancy reduce worth
does it just become routine
and lose all personal meaning?
will saying "I'm sorry" every day
make the words seem less true

and think me to be insincere?

too much to do
too little time
procrastination
not my friend
*sigh*

not my friend

so here is an idea
why not write haiku?
thank you, not today
it is not what I do
simple canons to follow
still too hard for me
free form flowing
no pattern needed
dumping thoughts
rules left unheeded
its how I roll...

conversation with a ghost
whisper kissing the mind
creating never a sound
every word heard clearly
images dance in the mind
vivid clarity on pale gauze
there superimposed on here
two realities cohabitating
is sanity lost or found
when otherside merges
edges blurring with this
becoming the impossible
conversation with a ghost
recollection of dreams past
reminding of hopes distant
yet still not lost forever
conversation with a ghost
reminding of the who I am
hinting to the who I wish
showing room to grow
and so the journey continues
moving forward once again
renewed in the endeavor by a
conversation with a ghost

isn't technology
a wonderful thing?
you sit in the library
and hear a phone ring!
no place is private
in this world any more
hearing half conversations
in checkout lines at the store
surfing the web
reading emails too
its amazing how many
rude things we can do!
I like to be quiet
to be out of touch
to be alone a while
its not asking that much
I do love my web
being online all day
but still there are times
when I need to slip away
out of the loop
and off of the chart
my own quiet solitude
bringing peace to my heart
so I take my tea
settle back down
to my secluded world
but I will see you around!
