Silence weighs heavy
on the seeking mind
searching for answers
we may never find
truth hides very well
within shadowed depths
avoiding observation
hushing all its steps
Many claim to seek it
yet few press it hard
surrendering the chase
clutching but a shard
more needs to be found
captured for display
revealing hidden goals
before they get away
perhaps one called friend
revealing what they lack
as light reveals knife
moving toward your back
truth however hidden
is never truly gone
knowing we may find it
helps us to carry on
So if you find a truth
lying about somewhere
shine a light upon it
for all the rest to share
and soon with hope
all truths can be revealed
no more secret deals
will be left concealed
I made a pledge to myself to write a poem a day for the entire year. Now to follow through. I preface this with a reminder; most of the poems written for this year long project will be done so spontaneously and therefore will not be edited. Bear with me on this. The project goal is to get them written over getting them perfect. Several times there will simply be the poem with no title. When that happens suggestions for a title will be welcomed in the comments.
Seekers of truth, beware!!! How often do we simply wish to drift off into a waking sleep but instead hear the dangerous, the complex, the disturbing truth - refuting it - denying it???
