The One Hundred Twenty Fourth, May 3, 2011

so many miles between
and still they are so close
as the heart holds near

family so far from home
or new relationships
distance has dwindled

friendships seem to form
locations meaning little
mutual thoughts mingle

common interests shared
universal thoughts mixing
unity in spite of separation

the joyous side of tech
reaching so far so fast
touching other cultures

but forget the names
of those living next door
that we see every day

what a strange world

  1. Well, the flip response is, put the neighbors on your "list" or get off the computer and use your ingenuity to connect to those seen daily. Sometimes, however, we don't want that much close interaction to those we see daily. We all make choices. Some never get to know others far away. Can we do it all?
