we often confuse
worry for thought
deluding ourselves
they are the same
we worry too often
think not enough
troubles grow larger
hope drains away
time to face reality
admit when it fails
stop needless worry
force deeper thought
worry makes haste
faster and faster we go
desperate for answers
which slip farther away
thinking helps us to slow
creating a calmer mind
answers are more stable
solutions can be found
it is time I remember this
breathing deep and slow
letting true thought rise
leaving worry behind
I made a pledge to myself to write a poem a day for the entire year. Now to follow through. I preface this with a reminder; most of the poems written for this year long project will be done so spontaneously and therefore will not be edited. Bear with me on this. The project goal is to get them written over getting them perfect. Several times there will simply be the poem with no title. When that happens suggestions for a title will be welcomed in the comments.
