oh the pondering of deep deep thoughts
slowing the mind in sluggish confinement
bearing all of the attention on one concept
but still unable to decipher the secret code
perhaps it is not really meant to be resolved
but merely serves as an exercise for growth
a way to sharpen and direct the awareness
enabling us to better resolve the others
but yet there comes some anxiety from this
as the internal desires cry out for resolution
needing closure to satisfy the personal ego
unable to admit sometimes we just won't know
I made a pledge to myself to write a poem a day for the entire year. Now to follow through. I preface this with a reminder; most of the poems written for this year long project will be done so spontaneously and therefore will not be edited. Bear with me on this. The project goal is to get them written over getting them perfect. Several times there will simply be the poem with no title. When that happens suggestions for a title will be welcomed in the comments.
Not knowing is always a driving force until we admit defeat.."..The internal desires cry out for resolution" like an musical piece left hanging mid-phrase. I like that you found a positive lesson from it (...serves as an exercise...).
ReplyDeleteThe first stanza is really excellent. Within three stanzas you cause my mind to reel.
