The Two Hundred Thirtieth, August 18, 2011

isn't that the always way?
need it done by yesterday
will tell you tomorrow
give you the tools next week

isn't that always the way?
ask you for your help
never answer questions
expect you to read minds

isn't that always the way?
tell you how to do your job
watching over your shoulder
so why did they call you?

isn't that always the way?
the sale was yesterday
we just ran out of those
that item is discontinued

isn't that always the way?
when you need it its lost
you don't want it theres tons
and its either way its your fault

isn't that always the way?

  1. Well, clearly the title is set!!

Sometimes we can laugh at such things. When the tension of these events build, we can release them, sometimes. Could we possibly speak clearly to "the other" and clear the air, accepting a contrite apology? Perhaps, rarely. Let others walk all over us? Never!! (I am supposed to say that, but as often as not, it is what happens in my world.)

Your poem makes me feel VERY uncomfortable. It definitely makes me think. It most certainly makes me glad I am able to follow your yearly blog. Thank you.
